This rocking chair IS the kind with four spindled feet planted firmly on the ground, which are holding up a frame, which is holding up another frame by way of springs; WHICH FACILITATE THE ROCKING ACTION.

Someone asked: What are the dimensions? So I guess I will do my best to answer them.
SPACE FOR THE SEATED PERSON:
From the floor to the top ot the pillowed seat 15
What I would call the actual seat height at the front lip beyond the pillowing 13
From wing arm to wing arm at the most narrow point is 17 3/4
Arm to arm at the inside of the very back 15
From seat frame to center top of the back 21
From the front lip to the back support 18
OVERALL CHAIR SPACE:
To the top of the back 37
The widest part of the arm to the widest part of the other arm 25
If you were to park it right up-against the wall it would stick out 24
((BUT OF COARSE IT WOULD NOT ROCK WITHOUT HITTING THE WALL.)).

And the at the center a person sinks in NOT SURE HOW TO MEASURE THAT.
It is NOT a wooden seat with a pillow tossed upon it.
It is an upholstered frame.
It is a hollow pocket design.
Yes the pillow will come off, leaving the upholstered over strapping or webbing thatched hollow pocket (I do not imagine that anyone has or would set on that directly.).
