We drilled a one inch hole in the back cover for the braided stainless steel covered hose to go to the five, ten, or twenty pound C02 tank.
You get the hose kits too. Yes plural.
One 36 inch hose kit, and one 72 inch hose kit.
That way you have some options in use.
Even though hand tight is all that is recommended;
You will receive a DEWALT brand, 1/2 inch drive, 6 point, one inch, deep socket
(To gently snug up one of your hose ends on up in there where the normal C02 tank would go.
It is a plastic threaded socket (SO BE GENTLE.).
Just tight enough to not leak.
The only remedy to breaking that coupling is going to be buying another whole new machine.
Did I mention that the box did come with the first C02 bottle.
There is this exchange program through the mail.
If you need portability for a picnic or something;
You might rather ONLY HAVE TOO lug around the smaller C02 cylinder.
YOU CAN GO AND GET YOUR OWN
FIVE OR TEN OR TWENTY POUND
FOOD GRADE C02 TANK
at Airgas or Matheson.
Refills are around fifteen bucks I think.
Just buy it there
so you can just grab an exchange
when you come in for a refill.
HOW OFTEN WILL YOU NEED TO REFILL A FIVE POUND TANK OF C02?
I have seen it said that people who use a five pound tank to carbonate their five gallon pop tank kegs full of beer, can go through eight or nine of those kegs before needing a new tank of C02.
I have seen it said that a five pound tank is around the same as over six sodastream C02 cans.
But then of course THEY ARE USING A PRESSURE REGULATOR; And we are not!
A nice big five pound tank is gonna last a good long while.
Even those little cylinders last most folks a whole month.

To explain where they come from and what I have here, I am sending some screen shots of my eBay order details pages.
That hundred dollar price tag is not what I need; Just what I have paid is what I ask.
Bought the Soda Streams.
Bought the step drill drill bit.
Bought the extension kits.
Bought the new seals.
Drilled the back covers to allow for the extension hose. (That was risky; But it did not break.).
All done. Ready to go. Tried to hand them out at Christmas. No one wanted them. Had them listed here for years and years.
Anyway: That is why the long explanation.
