Pair of female guinea pigs needing new homes!
These ladies were rescues and we've kept them for the last few months to fatten them up as they were very thin and to grow out their matted hair. They look much better now, though will need additional TLC to get them to know you (they are a bit shy around new folks, but they do not bite!). They are now just looking for a lovely new home to call their own!
One is a crazy-haired pretty reddish brown, she is pretty skittish, but is doing a lot better -- she will come up to you and eat out of your hand, but quick movements really frighten her! The other one reminds me of a blue merle dog and is SUPER friendly, but she loves to nibble (not bite) your fingers which maybe scary at first. Both of them require a bit of work to be held, but once you hold them, they calm down. We let them out in a pen often and let them roam around. When we first got them, we let them out in a small area outside where there was fresh greens and grass.
Both, are, we assume, sisters, or at least cage mates, for two years, so we definitely recommend keeping them together!
They are eating fresh fruits and veggies, pellets and various types of hay (have been feeding them a bit more alfalfa to get them to gain a bit more weight).
They are $20 each or $30 for the pair! This is just to help with the feed bill and care! Guinea pigs are VERY social and they should be kept in at least pairs or trios (even better). We will seek out homes looking to adopt the pair over others wanting to adopt them singly.
They include no supplies (they are currently using our rabbit hutch!).
